According to the executive director of the Virginia Lottery, Kevin Hall, the timeline to reopen the casino in Bristol is changed again, and it is being planned that the venue to launch the casino temporarily can be in April 2022. The Board of the Virginia Lottery approved this project during the meeting (quarterly) on 15th July.

Hard Rock Bristol Casino & Hotel was planned to host a brief gaming venue within the part of the massive Bristol Mall, and the probable time to hold the venue was thought in the second half of 2021, while the remaining of the constructional activities take place in other parts of that property. In a Zoom meeting, Kevin Hall explained his thoughts to the Virginia House of Delegates Appropriates Committee. He said that the operator could successfully open a casino for a short duration because of the procedures and checks that they required to finish first. The temporary operation would be allowed only under the legislation. However, the applicants might need to undergo their background checks or might be given a license. Earlier in November 2020, the voters of Bristol and the other three Virginian cities showed a positive signal to reopen the gambling industries once again.

Though they need to apply and being granted for their license first. This delay might bring out some good things too. The $400 million casino industry will be situated at the Bristol Mall, and it will feature around 350 hotel rooms, which could be jumped to 700. There will be other amenities as well, which will include a conference center, casino, sportsbook, bars, restaurants, music venue, retail shops, pools, spa, and so on.
