New Orleans to Have The First US Casino that Require Vaccination Proof

New Orleans isn’t playing around when it comes to the outbreak. Numerous entertainment companies, including casinos, will demand confirmation of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test result beginning from August 16.

Harrah’s New Orleans Casino is the first in the United States to require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test. To enter the resort, guests must demonstrate their safety and compliance with the rules. This is part of Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s comprehensive indoor order, which went into effect on Thursday. Mayor Cantrell’s decree extends to racetracks with gambling machines, such as the Fairgrounds. Beginning Monday, the vaccination proof will also be demanded in clubs, concerts, and the successor Caesars Superdome. Likewise, the restaurants and gyms are no exceptions. Any event, which the city predicts to have a high transmission risk needs to show confirmation of vaccination or a negative PCR test. A test or vaccination is required for anyone above 12 years old.

The new rule will apply to even die-hard New Orleans Saints NFL fans who will attend the games in the fall.  As one might expect, the news has slightly disturbed many dedicated Saints supporters. Moreover, With his tweet, @dadbodXL, an avid NFL fan, expresses his displeasure with the new rule. “Pay $100 per ticket plus concessions to watch in person in a mask or watch free at home? This is a tough one. Enjoy the Ls on attendance and concessions,” he tweeted.

Caesars Entertainment owns the Harrah’s New Orleans casino. In 2013, Caesars Entertainment was the world’s fourth-largest gambling firm. When it comes to legal casinos, the organization has a solid reputation.

The main poker room features 20 card tables and is a popular destination for local tournaments and cash game grinders. This decreases the probability of people protesting the order and going to another casino. This city mandate may turn off and disappoint some gamblers. Ultimately, causing them to visit a casino outside of New Orleans or in the surrounding area.

Las Vegas already carries out the vaccination proof or COVID-19 test rule for many other entertainment venues except casinos. Slowly, the US is implementing this mandate in many states to protect the citizens from the deadly virus that is COVID-19.

The Casino Games are gaining popularity rapidly, especially the Nevada Slot Machines. So, it will not be a wonder if gamblers start getting vaccinated.
