The New Orleans Superdome Mercedes-Benz could name after a casino company, and it could become the first NFL stadium by a casino company name.
Since 1975 the stadium has been the saint’s home. Caesars Entertainment of Nevada-based and NFL’s New Orleans Saints are reaching an agreement for naming it right.
Senior vice president Greg Bensel said that at this time, there is no signed deal with any company, so there is nothing to report officially.
He said that they are having conversations with different interested companies, and it will continue until to reach any decision.
Kate Whiteley (Caesars Spokeswoman) said that for since long New Orleans has strong ties with the company. She said that as the partnership of the company with Saints and Pelicans continues, they are proud of it. Their current relationship with the team is more valuable, and in the current situation, there is nothing to share behind it.
Across the country, the casino brand The Caesars extends. New Orleans Hotel and Casino are also included in it. In the state, it is the only casino that is land-based. A renovation is taking place in the resort, and the rebrand will be Caesars New Orleans. Four racinos and 13 riverboat casinos are also in Louisiana.
A contract worth up to $60 million has signed by German automaker Mercedes-Benz in 2011. It’s a 10-year Superdome naming-rights contract. Last May the car company declared that it would not renew the contract.
Casino Arena Names
There is a casino owned by the company in South Florida and the only NFL stadium named after it. The home of the Miami Dolphins is the Hard Rock Stadium. However, any gambling references are prohibited in the naming agreement of 2016.
Casinos are affiliated with two non-NFL sports professional arenas.
Gila River Arena is one, and the other is Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville.
Gilla River Arena is the result of the agreement of Gila River Casinos and the Gila River Indian Community. On the other hand, Mohegan Sun Casino is the home area of WNBA’s Connecticut Sun.
In 1975, the Superdome opened, and since then, it has been associated with the saints.
